Today was a big day in Paris as Fashion Week came to a
spectacular close. Miu Miu, Hermès, the debut of Nicolas Ghesquière at Louis
Vuitton, and a brilliant presentation by Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad. Murad
is said to have pulled his inspiration for these lace and leather cutout pieces
by studying the shapes and silhouettes of the world’s most beautiful insects.
Dragonflies, butterflies, and even some bat-wing sleeves made an appearance in
the mix. The collection went from day, cocktail, to evening looks that were all
sexy, sophisticated, and elaborately embroidered interpretations of the flying
specimens. Bravo.
