Italian and Haitian designer Stella Jean is one who uses her diverse cultural roots as a platform of endless inspiration and creativity. She considers fashion to be a "cultural translator" that can be used as a tool to transcend differences. Her RTW Fall 14 collection does just that as she mixes vibrant African wax-prints with dress styles reminiscent of Japanese Kimonos.
The collection has nods to traditional Western tailoring and silhouettes as well with what appears to be a few kiki pencil skirts. Stella Jean's work is not only exciting and confident but filled with stories of heritage.
